On July 20th 2010 the ‘go-live’ for .co domain names (Colombia) began. Now, after 1 year, records show that 66% of all names that were registered back then, were also renewed.

It is now official: .ss will become the future domain name extension of South Sudan. Almost instantly after South Sudan became an independent state, on July 9th 2010, they requested to be appointed their own proper country code top level domain. This has now been officially allocated to them.

A while ago we already posted an article that ICANN had seriously warned the .jobs registry. The registry got this warning because, according to ICANN, they had set up a partnership via which the registry violated the rules of their own policy.

During the previous weekend, all websites and other services ending in .gb.com went off-line. The extension .gb.com isn’t a real “top level domain” like fore example .be or .co.uk. It actually is the owner of the domain name “gb.com” who is selling subdomains under his domain name. And it now turns out that ownership of gb.com is disputed.
