Norid (.no registry) considers to increase their quota this autumn. Due to the current quota, Norwegian companies can only register 20 .no names per company. Norid however receives more and more complaints that 20 names isn’t enough.

On January 15th 2012 Verisign, the registry which is responsible for the management of the .com and .net extension, will increase the price once more. They last increased the price in July 2010.

The .xxx registry has announced the time schedule for the release of the .xxx domain. This release will happen in 3 phases: a sunrise, divided into sunris A en B which wil run parallel, a landrush and at last the general availabilty.

On July 9th South Sudan became independent. Along with this independence also comes a new domain name extension and South Sudan is impatiently waiting for it.
