Today, June 1st 2011, the landrush for 2 character and numeric .tel names has started. This landrush ends on June 13th 2011 and will be followed by the general availability which begins on June 14th.
During the landrush everyone who wishes to do so can register a 2 character or numeric .tel domain name. Applications will be treated on a first come, first served basis. However there are certain names which can’t be registered:
- 1 letter of 1 number .tel names (a.tel through z.tel aren’t possible just like 0.tel through 9.tel)
- 2 letter .tel names which form a country code (be.tel, it.tel, us.tel,… )
- numeric .tel names which contain more than 8 numbers (so phone numbers aren’t possible)
